What does PDA stand for?

A lot of people have asked me what does PDA? stand for anyway. Especially with our website name ExtremePDAs. They figure we must ahve the naswer. Actually it took me a mniute to understand the question the first time I got it becuase I had to remeber how I knew it. I honestly don;t know where I learned it from or if it is exactly the right meaning or not.

I always thought PDA stood foor P (Personal) D (Digital) A (Assistant). Ya know it is like having your own personal assitant to remind you to buy somthing for your anniversary or when your next important business meeting it. On many PDAs you can even check your email and browse the web now. So really it is a complete assistant. It keeps you on track and goal oriented.

The RIM BlackBerries vs. HP iPAQ h63009

As you all probably well know the RIM Blackberries are quickly becomming the hottest thing on the PDA/cell phone market. In fact on many PDA news sites there are big predictions about RIM raking over the market.

What is PalmOne and iPAQ to do? Well, like any good business copy the success and ride on on the coat tales of others popularity as long as possible and hope to create the next big thing.

So what has made the RIM Blackberries so successful in such a short time? If you were going to copy what would you do?

Well it seems the the two biggest factors of the Blackberries success is instant email and a keyboard to respond. This is the big draw and unless you have used one you probably don't know how addictive it really is. It is kind of like many of us were before cell phones. I remeber think I don;t need that what would I use it for? However, I wouldn't give my cell phone away for anything now! I use it all the time.

So a keyboard and instant email. Those are the key ingredients.

Well iPAQ has just recently realeased the new iPAQ h6300 to compete with RIM Blackberries. Will this sell as well as the orginal? It has the two key factors a keybnoard and instant push notification email.

Only time can tell if it will be as popular but some of the inital info out does not look super positive. Of course it is early to tell.

Well...It's not much but at least it is my ugly puppy...

Hi all-

Well like I said below the site is now up. It only has two reviews on it right now and that is it. Wow a pretty meager and humble start for the glorious and grandious dreams that I had orginally. However between working on a masters degree in education, two children under two at home and a full time plus job it is hard to get seat time in front of the computer. Much of my blog posts are written in between jants to the basinet to pluck the pacifier back in my daughter's mouth. So if they seem at all disjointed you know why.

I also have to aplogoize for my real lack of typing skills. I type super fast you see. It is really a evoloutionary thing from bieng too busy. I have learned to type t super sonic speeds but often my fingers go faster then my brain (or was it the other way around) and then I make some silly mistakes. Most of them are simple formatting mistakes so I am sure you can understand what I am writing and well if you can;t you will hit the back button fast. Hopefully though through my witt and strange humour you will decide tos tay around and read on and try to make sense of my hieroglyphic type of writing.

So...Where was I? Oh yes the site is now offically up at least in skeleton form and mostly needs the content. I hve started to look at going a different route witht he site already and using a content management or cms type of software. However for now since I am unsure what I want to do with it I figured I would blog. Ya' know blogging is the perfect way to get content published on the web for a busy over worked sorry computer millionaire want to be like me. It is quick and easy!

The opening of Extreme PDAs

Well, the site is stillr eally small and there is a lot that needs to be done. However there is now one reicvew and all the site structure is up. Well, for the most part any way. So this here post is to introduce you to Extreme PDAs. Our little website is a source of everything PDA. It will feature reviews, articles, PDA Accessories, PDACases, PDA Software and a forum (eventually). It is my intention that you will find the PDA you are looking for and have fun doing it. Not only that I hope to feature some great sources to purchase PDA's at great prices. I will features som eof the best places to buy so that you can save BIG MONEY!

So that is pretty much what Extreme PDAs is all about. One more thing, for those hardcore bloggers out there this is a busniess blog. It will contain links to reviews and etc. that our on my main website.
